Annette Hansen-Schmidt

My interest in Oriental Medicine was sparked in 1991 when I began studying acupressure massage at the Universal Institute of Healing Arts in Montpelier, Vermont. In 1995 I completed a training in shiatsu at the Ohashiatsu Institute in New York City. In the summer of 2000, I graduated with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Maryland and received my VT State Acupuncture License.

Since that time I have been practicing acupuncture and therapeutic massage in Montpelier. In my experience bodywork and acupuncture complement each other very well, as both support the healing process and stimulate the body's resilience. If possible, I may even combine the two modalities in one session.

The more I learn, the more fascinated I become by Chinese Medicine, its inclusiveness of the body-mind connection, and the relevance this ancient system of healing has for us today.
