About JD Green

JD discovered radio in 1989 as a freshman student at Castleton State College in Vermont as a journalism student and creative writer. He happened upon radio one night when a fellow dormitory roommate, a disc jockey on the small campus radio station (WIUV), fell ill and needed a quick replacement. Without any on-air radio experience, he nervously took the controls and conducted his first radio show. JD fell in love with the experience. After a two year stint hosting his own late night progressive fusion jazz show, on WIUV "The Blown Fuse," JD continued his on-air experience at Central Connecticut State University, a small Christian radio station in Bloomfield CT and as an intern at CT Public Radio, all without pay. During the day, he attended College until graduation in 1994. JD then worked in the insurance industry at ITT Hartford Life while continuing an intership at Connecticut Public Radio.

In 1995, JD relocated to Vermont and lived in a tent while searching for his first paid job in radio. It came one year later, at Classic Hits 101.7, where he worked full-time through the overnights, six days a week, 12am to 6am. JD then hosted his own jazz show on WDEV in Waterbury for several years until Froggy 100.9 was born in Barre, Vermont in October of 2000. He has hosted 'The Breakfast Club' since, from 5am to 10am Monday through Friday on Froggy FM 100.9.
